FARMINGDALE, NY (08-18-08): EtQ, Inc. has announced the release of its Supplier Rating and Inspection module as part of the latest release of EtQ Reliance.
EtQ recognizes that it is important for a business to maintain the highest level of quality from its suppliers. Too often, companies will track the cost of poor quality (COPQ) within their organization but fail to track the cost of poor supplier quality (COPSQ).EtQ has designed a module to track COPSQ-ultimately leading to increased visibility into supplier quality.
EtQ's Supplier Rating module is designed to set up scorecards that contain both qualitative and quantitative elements each with its own percentage weight. Using EtQ's integrated modules, the system is able to collect supplier-related data as materials are received, inspected, defects are found, and corrective actions are taken. The Supplier Rating module is able to automatically update critical supplier metrics, including parts per million (PPM), on-time delivery, number of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and correct quantity. EtQ also has the ability to integrate with external business systems to pull key supplier data into the rating, resulting in increased visibility into supplier performance throughout the quality system. The end result is a rating based on material, provided for all suppliers within the enterprise.
While tracking performance of your suppliers is important to your business, the ability for your suppliers to see how they are rated is just as important to foster continuous improvement within their own quality system. Recognizing this need, EtQ has developed features to enable suppliers to see their ratings and performance through use of the Supplier Exchange portal, which allows suppliers to view their open CAPAs, overall performance and rating, and provides an environment to collaborate with the parent organization on improving quality.
"EtQ has provided the customer with a system that tracks supplier materials-from receiving and inspection, to nonconformance, deviation, and corrective action-and calculates supplier data into the supplier rating," states Morgan Palmer, Chief Technology Officer at EtQ. "Through the use of EtQ's Supplier Rating and Inspection module, poor supplier quality is identified and mitigated and in turn defects are eliminated across product lines. We can also integrate with existing ERP and MRP, providing a seamless link to external business systems and to overall supplier performance-resulting in increased quality across the enterprise."
