ETQ Announces 2018 Innovation Excellence Award Finalists

October 15, 2018

BURLINGTON, MA, October 15, 2018 — ETQ, a leading provider of quality management software, today announced the 2018 finalists for The ETQ Innovation Excellence Awards. The award program celebrates customer ingenuity in implementing ETQ RelianceTM software in unique ways to address critical business challenges. Common to all of the finalists is their vision in using ETQ Reliance to help turn their quality programs into measurable business advantages. The finalists will present their award applications at ETQ’s 22nd Annual User Conference at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida, October 15 to October 18. The theme for this year’s conference is “Building the Foundations of Compliance.”

The 2018 ETQ Innovation Excellence Awards Finalists are:

  • RRD — RRD is a leading multichannel marketing and business communications company that helps clients better connect with their customers. As clients’ needs evolve rapidly in a hyper-competitive business environment, RRD leverages a range of industry-leading capabilities to develop action-oriented solutions that increase communications impact while decreasing cost and complexity. While RRD continues to transform, IT teams remain focused on maximizing the speed and efficiency of technical systems and processes to support and drive strategic priorities. RRD built the ETQ Information Center (EIC) to streamline and automate communications between RRD ETQ users and the IT development team. The resulting system provides a one-stop shop for users’ administrative requests, which were previously captured in various systems. By interlinking the five unique forms and workflows in the EIC, RRD has increased efficiency, data integrity, accountability, and visibility for users. Overall, the EIC module has encouraged networking among sites, streamlined processes, and allowed the development team to reduce turnaround time of requests.
  • Kimberly-Clark — As companies implement transformation initiatives to grow and improve their business, new capabilities and business processes are introduced. To help assess the progress and maturity of their transformation initiatives and capacities, K-C created a Maturity Assessment tool in ETQ. This tool allows them to establish maturity level requirements for each capability, establish baselines, set annual maturity targets at the business/region/country/site level, and assess their current maturity state to measure progress towards their targets. Maturity assessment analytics utilize the ETQ data to visualize performance, identify gaps, opportunities for improvement, and opportunities for standardization.
  • GE Transportation — Since 2017, GE Transportation has launched an ongoing quality culture campaign to create an environment where every single employee embraces a quality of culture. The campaign has included manager led discussions, incentivized quizzes and contests, learning modules, and various communications to increase employee quality knowledge and establish shared expectations for execution and accountability. One tool that has helped the team amplify quality messages, and offer standardize quality eLearning, is the ETQ Reliance Platform. The solution is used to deliver weekly messages educating employees and suppliers on critical quality topics. As users log into the application each week, they see a new pop up message on various quality topics. The standardized eLearning via Reliance modules were specifically designed to dive deep into relevant quality topics that vary by job function. In manufacturing, ETQ Reliance Platform has also been used to deliver quality alerts to specific workstations and encourage operator signoff and escalation of issues.

“The ETQ Annual User Conference is a wonderful gathering of the ETQ customer community where we can stay close to their real-world quality management concerns, exchange information on how best to use quality as a real competitive advantage, and to grow as quality and compliance professionals,” said Robert Gremley, ETQ, CEO. “Together we are exploring all the ways that quality creates business advantage, powerful competitiveness and unlimited innovation.”
