In February 2022, Hexagon announced the acquisition of ETQ a leading provider of SaaS-based EQMS (enterprise quality management system), safety, and compliance management software. ETQs keynote at Hexagon Live 2022 in June focused on the promise of the acquisition. Rob Gremley, ETQ’s CEO and Morgan Palmer ETQ’s CTO spoke of “connected quality” linking quality management to manufacturing floor quality control processes (Hexagon). Kimberly-Clark’s Ben Bollenbacher shared their quality journey with ETQ Reliance. And Sara Hanks, from Wabtec, discussed how they leveraged both ETQ and Hexagon in their manufacturing operations.

Summary of keynote by speaker (link to videos below):

Introduction: Quality Matters
Rob Gremley, ETQ CEO discussed why quality is the number one determinant for consumers choosing products. For companies like Lockheed Martin, Boar’s Head Meats and Kimberly-Clark, consistent quality management processes is why these companies continue to succeed.

Kimberly-Clark’s Quality Journey with ETQ Reliance
Kimberly-Clark’s (K-C) Director, Supply Chain Digital Capabilities, Ben Bollenbacher, talked about K-C’s ever-evolving quality journey with ETQ and how using ETQ’s quality management system (QMS) has helped K-C standardize quality processes to achieve higher quality products and improved customer satisfaction.

Quality can Make Business Operations more Autonomous and Sustainable
Morgan Palmer, ETQ CTO discussed how quality can make business operations more sustainable and more autonomous – from eliminating waste to operational efficiency and continuous improvement – and how an electronic quality management system (EQMS) like ETQ Reliance can do it all by connecting QMS workflow processes to the shop floor.

Wabtec shares the value of integrating QC and QA data
Sara Hanks, Sr. Director Project Management at GE Transportation, a Wabtec company shared how Wabtec connected their Hexagon SPC system, Q-DAS, with ETQ Reliance for better visibility into manufacturing defects. With the integration, Nonconformances are automatically triggered and entered in the QMS, with no manual data entry. Connecting Quality Control with Reliance drives faster problem resolution, improves production output, reduces waste and scrap and speeds product to market.
