FDA Grants J&J National Priority Voucher for Multiple Myeloma Combination

The FDA proactively granted Johnson & Johnson a National Priority Voucher for its Tecvayli and Darzalex combination to treat relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, marking the 16th therapy selected under the Commissioner’s National Priority Voucher pilot program established in June 2025. The voucher reduces drug review time from 10-12 months to 1-2 months and follows Phase III MajesTEC-3 trial results presented at the American Society of Hematology annual meeting in December 2025.
The MajesTEC-3 trial showed the Tecvayli and Darzalex combination produced 83% improvement in progression-free survival and reduced death risk by 54% compared to standard treatments after three years among 587 patients who received one to three prior therapy lines. At 36 months overall survival reached 83.3% with the combination versus 65% for standard treatments, demonstrating significant benefits for the 16th therapy admitted to the Commissioner’s accelerated review program.
Philips Acquires SpectraWAVE for AI-Enabled Coronary Imaging Technology

Royal Philips entered an agreement to acquire SpectraWAVE, a Bedford Massachusetts company founded in 2017 with 70 employees developing Enhanced Vascular Imaging for coronary arteries serving more than 300 million people worldwide affected by coronary artery disease. The acquisition adds SpectraWAVE’s HyperVue Imaging System combining DeepOCT and near-infrared spectroscopy with X1-FFR angiography-derived AI-enabled physiological assessment to Philips’ existing Eagle Eye Platinum IVUS and OmniWire iFR technologies.
The HyperVue system provides rapid setup and automated AI image analysis during percutaneous coronary interventions with FDA Class 2 clearance, integrating with Philips’ Azurion image-guided therapy platform used to treat 7.6 million patients annually across 80 countries. The X1-FFR technology calculates Fractional Flow Reserve from a single coronary angiogram without requiring invasive pressure wires, expanding clinician options for intravascular imaging and physiological assessment. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tetra Pak Launches Paper-Based Barrier Achieving 92% Renewable Content

Tetra Pak launched the first aseptic paper-based barrier technology for juice packaging in partnership with Spanish beverage producer García Carrión under the Don Simón brand, replacing traditional aluminum foil with a renewable paper-based barrier in the Tetra Brik Aseptic 200 ml Slim Leaf carton. The packaging contains up to 80% paper combined with plant-based polymers achieving 92% renewable content with Carbon Trust verification showing 43% lower carbon footprint compared to conventional aseptic cartons.
The paper-based barrier delivers equivalent protection to aluminum foil against oxygen, light, moisture and bacteria while maintaining food safety and comparable shelf life. The technology launched in Spain in December 2025 representing a global breakthrough for sustainable packaging with improved fiber recovery and processing efficiency in markets with established recycling infrastructure, supporting García Carrión’s 135-year commitment to responsible innovation and environmental stewardship.

Kuehne+Nagel and SWISS Launch Five-Year Synthetic Aviation Fuel Partnership

Kuehne+Nagel and Swiss International Air Lines signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their strategic partnership focused on sustainable aviation fuel produced by Synhelion, a Swiss cleantech company converting sunlight into renewable synthetic fuels. The partnership includes a long-term offtake agreement providing Synhelion with production planning security to scale solar jet fuel technology beginning in 2027 with Kuehne+Nagel purchasing SAF under a five-year agreement for cargo shipments by Swiss WorldCargo.
The five-year agreement starting in 2027 represents the first commercial offtake of Synhelion’s synthetic aviation fuel with Kuehne+Nagel offering customers opportunities to reduce CO₂ footprint through innovative solar-based sustainable aviation fuel technology. The collaboration supports aviation industry climate targets through scaled production of synthetic SAF currently scarce and costly in the market, with SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger emphasizing the need for strong partnerships to make air travel more sustainable.
