Under the Clean Air Act, EPA establishes air quality standards to protect public health, including the health of "sensitive" populations such as people with asthma, children, and older adults. EPA also sets limits to protect public welfare. This includes protecting ecosystems, including plants and animals, from harm, as well as protecting against decreased visibility and damage to crops, vegetation, and buildings. To achieve these standards, EPA has in place regulatory and voluntary programs to reduce the amount of air pollutants emitted from a wide range of emission sources.
In an important step towards improving the air quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Sustainability regulations , the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires reporting on more than 600 air toxins or Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs). This includes HAPs that are discharged from different points during the entity’s operations. Generating the necessary air pollutant reports requires the development of a complete emissions inventory system. Similar requirements are mandated by global standard bodies to reduce the environmental impact of emissions sources and reduce the carbon footprint.
The Reliance Emissions Inventory module calculates the volume of air pollutants discharged into the atmosphere during a specific time period. It generates reports about the air pollutants emitted to the atmosphere. This module enables companies to comply with air pollutant and emission regulations, as well as air permit requirements, from around the world. The module embeds sophisticated capabilities that perform complex calculations at high volume, and on an on-going basis, to ensure accuracy of air emissions calculations throughout all facilities and regions. The Reliance Emissions Inventory works seamlessly with the Reliance Equation Engine to calculate the discharged amounts of different air pollutants based on parameter and equation profiles.
Emissions Inventory is just one of the many processes EtQ's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Quality and Compliance Software streamlines and simplifies. EtQ's EHS, Quality and Compliance Software lets you take full advantage of the familiarity that most of your users already have with a Web browser by providing an interface with which they are already comfortable and productive. Other modules within the EHS Software suite include: Incidents, Accidents and Safety Reporting, Compliance Obligations, Management of Change, Sustainability and more.
