FARMINGDALE,
NY (05-15-08): EtQ
has introduced clustering
as a technology option for
EtQ Reliance Quality Management
system, designed to provide
enhanced performance and
high-availability within
the EtQ application environment.
Clustering is the is
the ability to interconnect
multiple servers and application
environments, either to
enhance performance or
to serve as redundancies
in the event of a single
or multiple system failure.
Typically, clustering
is used to combine multiple
computers to work closely
together to act as a single
computer, either to improve
the overall computing
power, or as a redundancy
for any system failures.
EtQ provides clustering
environments for both
of these purposes.
Performance Clustering with EtQ enables multiple
computers to effectively
balance the computing
load across multiple application
environments. Using clustering
enables a large organization
with many users to optimize
the performance capabilities
of EtQ Reliance, especially
when many thousands of
tasks are executed per
second.
High-Availability Clustering with EtQ provides redundant,
real-time instances of
the EtQ Reliance environment
to act as a fail-over
in the event of a system
crash or unforeseeable
system failures. This
type of clustering is
most beneficial for customers
handling critical and/or
time-sensitive data; it also
provides a seamless method
to continue using EtQ
Reliance, even if one
or more servers fail.
"We at EtQ are
always looking to provide
as many options as possible
with respect to technology,"
says Morgan Palmer, Chief
Technology Officer at
EtQ. "Not only is EtQ
Reliance robust enough
to handle multiple
tasks, and is benchmarked
to the highest
degree, we want to provide
our customers with the
technology to do more,
if they choose."
Morgan goes on to say
that EtQ is constantly
researching leading edge
technologies, and looking
for new ways to incorporate
relevant features into
the product. "Innovation
is one of the key drivers
for EtQ, and we are always
looking to push the envelope
further and further with
the technology."
Clustering is just one
of the many technological
advancements available
with EtQ's robust
line of integrated applications
for Quality, Compliance
or Environmental, Health
and Safety Management.
As with all of EtQ's
applications, the integrated
set of modules enables
users to link Quality
related events to enterprise,
automate all procedures
related to Quality and
Compliance, and collaborate
throughout the organization,
in real-time.
